A Turning Point in 2021
In 2021, Linda Dorcas Y. Kawala stood at a pivotal crossroads in her life. Recently promoted from Cashier to Purchasing Coordinator at Carver Mission, she was filled with excitement—but soon, that excitement turned into overwhelming pressure. With no formal training in procurement or project management, Dorcas struggled to structure and manage her tasks effectively. Despite turning to YouTube tutorials, Google searches, and online tools, her growth remained stagnant.
Discovering Gonet Academy
Everything changed in 2022 when Dorcas discovered Gonet Academy. Though initially skeptical—given the academy’s youthful leadership, modest training facility, and affordable fees—she took a chance. “What won me over was their calm reception and professionalism,” she shared. “These young professionals knew a hundred times more than I imagined. From Learning to Transformation
Dorcas enrolled and never looked back. Over the course of three consecutive cohorts (Cohorts 2, 3, and 4), she completed certifications in Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, Procurement and Contract Management, and Effective Communication and Public Speaking. These skills dramatically improved her performance at work and sparked a new entrepreneurial vision.
The Birth of D’Compass Show
With renewed confidence and clarity, Dorcas launched the ‘D’Compass Show’ in 2023—an online talk show aimed at empowering entrepreneurs, professionals, and changemakers. She credits Gonet Academy for giving her the tools to succeed: “I used to like speaking in public, but I needed the technical know-how to be an effective and efficient speaker. That’s exactly what Gonet Academy gave me.”
Her passion for learning and personal development has only grown. D’Compass Show is steadily building an audience and inspiring others—just as Dorcas was once inspired.
Balancing Purpose and Career
Today, Dorcas seamlessly balances her role as a talk show host with her duties as a Purchasing Coordinator. Her work at Carver Mission has significantly improved, and she now approaches every challenge with competence and purpose.
