—Gonet Academy CEO Mohammed Kerkulah underscores relevance, impact, and national transformation
GonetAfrica, through its academic arm Gonet Academy, has hosted a refresher workshop aimed at building the capacity of its Training Specialists (trainers and facilitators) to improve program quality, delivery, and overall impact.
The one-day workshop, held on Saturday, September 13, focused on critical areas such as self-awareness and institutional identity, program quality and delivery, monitoring and evaluation, as well as facilitation techniques.
Participants also reflected on Cohort 12, reviewing successes, challenges, lessons learned, and student feedback to guide future improvements. The cohort is expected to graduate more than 800 professionals, with an impressive completion rate of over 85 percent.

Providing an overview, GonetAfrica’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mohammed Kerkulah, described the exercise as part of the organization’s Trainers Performance Enhancement Program (TPEP), which falls under Strategic Goal 1 of its 2025–2027 Strategic Plan.
“We convened over 30 trainers from diverse backgrounds to ensure they are equipped with the right skills to improve program quality and delivery,” Kerkulah said. “At Gonet, we pay keen attention to relevance and impact. Our training must transform lives, empower people, and contribute to national development and economic transformation.”

“The training was not only about strengthening facilitation skills but also about reshaping the mindset of trainers and facilitators to see themselves as builders of future leaders and changemakers across Liberia and beyond,” Kerkulah said.
The refresher reinforced Gonet Academy’s values of Excellence, Integrity, Innovation, and Teamwork, while preparing its training specialists to better equip, empower, and elevate the next generation of leaders, innovators, and professionals.
The CEO also highlighted recent innovations, including the development of a virtual learning environment to give students greater access to resources, reduce paperwork, and integrate technology into teaching and learning. He revealed plans to launch the Gonet Innovation Fund, which will support entrepreneurs and innovative projects addressing pressing societal challenges.
“This training reaffirms our commitment to delivering relevant, impactful, and transformative professional development programs,” Kerkulah added. “Our trainers are now energized to deliver quality in the classroom that translates into national and continental transformation. Gonet Academy is ready to lead change, innovate, and empower.”
GonetAfrica remains committed to innovation, transformation, and empowering professionals to drive positive change in society. This refresher workshop for our Training Specialists is part of our Trainers Performance Enhancement Program (TPEP), which is designed to strengthen the proficiency and effectiveness of our trainers.
Continuous professional development is vital. It enhances our trainers’ ability to deliver quality training that not only nurtures the next generation of leaders and professionals but also contributes to national transformation.
Excellence and teamwork are central to what we do. By focusing on self-awareness, program quality, monitoring, and facilitation techniques, we can ensure that our training programs are relevant, impactful, and aligned with the needs of those we serve.
The successes, challenges, and feedback from Cohort 12 serve as valuable lessons. They help us reflect, improve program quality, and ultimately enhance student learning outcomes. Our commitment is to ensure that every program we deliver makes a meaningful impact on individuals and society as a whole.”
