Gonet Academy is Poised to Graduate Over 900 Students on Saturday, February 7, 2026

-As Female Participation Continues to Rise

Gonet Academy is set to graduate over nine hundred (900) students from a wide range of professional disciplines when it holds its Cohort 13 Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Harvest Intercontinental Cathedral in Congo Town, Monrovia, Liberia.

The ceremony, one of the largest graduations organized by a professional development institution in the country, will bring together students trained in leadership, governance, public relations, entrepreneurship, business management, professional communication, project management, procurement, logistics and supply chain management, data analysis, office administration, banking and finance, financial management, QuickBooks, ICT and Computer Literacy, human resource management, Monitoring and Evaluation, among others. The event is expected to attract government officials, development partners, educators, parents, alumni, and members of the general public.

A defining feature of the Cohort 13 graduation is the strong dominance of female graduates, who account for over half (56.5%) of the graduating class. This trend is not incidental but part of a consistent pattern across previous cohorts.

Women at the Center of Gonet Academy’s Empowerment Strategy

Data from Gonet Academy indicate that female participation has steadily increased over the years, with women constituting an estimated 55 to nearly 60 percent of graduates across recent cohorts. This sustained representation underscores the Academy’s deliberate policy of prioritizing women’s empowerment, leadership development, and access to professional opportunities.

Gonet Academy has consistently tailored its programs to remove barriers facing young women and working professionals, ensuring inclusive access to training and mentorship.

“We are particularly proud of the fact that women continue to dominate our graduating cohorts,” said Mohamed Kerkulah, Gonet Academy’s Chief Empowerment Officer (CEO). “This is not by chance. At Gonet Academy, we intentionally invest in women because we believe that empowering women is one of the fastest and most sustainable ways to transform families, institutions, and the nation at large.”

CEO Kerkulah described the upcoming ceremony as a celebration not only of professional achievement but also of Liberia’s growing human capital perfectly aligned with national, regional, continental and global development agendas.

“Over nine hundred graduates in a single cohort represents hope, capacity, and readiness to serve,” he said. “Our mission has always been to empower young people and professionals with practical skills, ethical leadership values, the confidence and network to contribute meaningfully to national, regional, continental and global development. Cohort 13 is a clear reflection of that mission.”

He noted that Gonet Academy’s programs are designed to complement formal education by equipping participants with workplace-ready skills, leadership competencies, and a strong sense of civic responsibility.

“Liberia’s development depends largely on the quality of its manpower,” Kerkulah added. “At Gonet Academy, we see ourselves as partners in the country’s drive to strengthen its young human resource base—preparing leaders, communicators, innovators, entrepreneurs and change-makers for both the public and private sectors.”

The significance of the Cohort 13 graduation is further highlighted by the selection of the Minister of Education, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, as the Guest Speaker for the occasion. Several other high-profile dignitaries from government institutions, development institutions, and others have also been invited to grace the ceremony.

The presence of senior national leaders reflects growing recognition of the role that non-traditional institutions like Gonet Academy are playing in skills development, youth empowerment, and leadership training.
