GonetAfrica’s Youth Leadership and Empowerment Vacation Program 2025 Climaxes with a Grand Celebration
The 2025 edition of GonetAfrica’s Youth Leadership and Empowerment Vacation Program 2025 officially came to a close on Friday, August 29, 2025, with a colorful graduation ceremony. Held at the Liberia Learning Center, Paynesville City, the ceremony was graced by parents, guardians, partners, and other guests. This year’s edition brought together 44 young people, aged 10–19, for a six-week journey of growth, discovery, and empowerment.

Throughout the six weeks, participants engaged in a series of practical learning experiences designed to build competence, confidence, and character. Sessions included: Leadership & Public Speaking – empowering young people to speak boldly and lead with integrity; English Language Enrichment – with emphasis on reading, writing, spelling, pronunciation, and subject-verb agreement; Self-Esteem & Personal Development – helping participants understand their value and maximize their innate potential; Entrepreneurship & Financial Literacy – teaching problem-solving, creativity, and responsible money management; and Social Etiquette & Life Skills – instilling discipline, respect, and confidence in everyday interactions.
A highlight of the program was the excursion to the Orange Digital Center, where participants explored innovation, technology, and lifelong learning resources. These visits inspired and broadened their perspectives on the role of technology and knowledge in shaping their futures.
Parents, guardians, partners, and guests graced the graduation ceremony. The keynote address was delivered by Mohammed Kerkulah, who challenged participants to dream big, lead with good character, and embrace the journey of lifelong learning. He reminded them that “vision creates direction, character sustains leadership, and learning never stops.”

During the event, participants showcased their growth through reflections, presentations, and performances. Certificates were awarded to all graduates, with special recognition for outstanding achievers in leadership, public speaking, teamwork, and innovation.
Parents expressed pride in their children’s transformation. Many shared how their sons and daughters had become more responsible, confident, and proactive both at home and in school. One parent highlighted that her child now takes initiative in leadership roles and demonstrates improved communication skills. Participants also testified that the program helped them overcome shyness, build stronger self-esteem, and discover their potential.
The Youth Leadership and Empowerment Vacation Program has now impacted nearly 100 young people over the past two years. With each edition, GonetAfrica and Gonet Academy continue to reaffirm their commitment to raising a new generation of leaders who are ready to innovate, lead, and make meaningful contributions to Africa’s development, beginning with Liberia.
As the 2025 graduates step forward, they carry not only certificates but also the tools, confidence, and vision to influence change in their communities and beyond.
